My name is Haru Takeya

I was born in 1998 and am a Japanese language teacher from Tokyo.

After working as a childcare worker in Tokyo for three years,
I began teaching Japanese online while also working as a babysitter for children in Japan who do not speak Japanese.

I have also been involved in creating Japanese language learning videos for Nihongo no Mori,
where I focus on one key question:
How can we make learning Japanese more fun and engaging?

🌱 My Lesson Style

To be honest, I didn’t really enjoy studying English in a traditional classroom setting at school.

However, by listening to music, watching movies and dramas,
and simply spending time with things I loved,
I found that English began to come to me naturally.

That experience shapes the way I teach.
In my lessons, I value Japanese that grows from your interests, hobbies, and everyday life,
rather than studying hard at a desk.
